The Spirit of Luxury Motoring
Why shared journeys create the best stories.
Yesterday, in my capacity as Supercarbaldie and as someone deeply connected to automotive culture, I attended the first gathering of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club of the UAE.
At the heart and with great heart are two partners united by purpose: Russell Gale and Ali Abdulla Fadhel Almemari. Together, they are laying the foundations for something that extends far beyond ownership, a true custodianship of heritage here in the United Arab Emirates.
Their shared belief is clear: there is no meaningful progress without understanding the origins of what we drive today. In a region often defined by what is next, they are choosing to honour what came before.

Russell’s journey with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars began at just ten years old, shaped by his father’s background in automotive engineering. What started as early exposure became lifelong dedication. His knowledge is not theoretical it is mechanical, historical, and deeply personal. He possesses the rare ability not only to speak about these magnificent carriages, but to rebuild and restore them with precision and reverence. That depth of understanding is what truly keeps a marque alive beyond showroom floors.
The evening itself reflected the spirit of the club. Warm introductions. Stories shared openly. Traditional food prepared around the fire. Tea poured generously. And I do love a cup of tea! Conversations that moved seamlessly between engineering detail and lived memory.
It was a powerful reminder that cars are never merely mechanical objects. At their highest expression, they are repositories of craftsmanship, carriers of lineage, and catalysts for human connection.

Heritage does not endure by coincidence. It endures because individuals make a conscious decision to preserve it, to share its stories, and to transfer its meaning to the next generation.
And this sits firmly in line with my own Supercarbaldie ethos within the world of motoring, that performance, prestige, and progression must always remain anchored to understanding, respect, and the human story behind the machine.
So, if you have a love and spirit for motoring, maybe have a Rols-Royce that needs restoration. The Club will be a perfect centre of enthusiasm and knowledge for you.
